I'm a bit tired...

so I'm going to get ready for bed.  But first, a few more random pictures from Spain.

Grandpas in Speedos

Churros are good.  Chocolate is good.  ...And just as you'd expect, Churros + Chocolate = Really Good.

One of the notorious desserts in Spain is just that...churros with really thick (I'm talking Burdick's-Hot-Chocolate-super-thick) hot chocolate.  You proceed to dip and eat, and it's great.  People sit around at outside tables at all times of the day munching away on churros + chocolate.  It's great.

Mmmm...

Churros and Chocolate

It's good.  Really good.

Permeable Shower Curtains

Permeable Shower Curtains are dumb.

Really.  What's the point of curtains, if water literally sprays right through them?  A towel would block more water than these permeable shower curtains.  They're dumb.  Really.

Apologies for no pictures!

The internet here is being horrifically slow (it's nighttime and everyone in the residence is online), so pics won't upload... :(

Also, I'm performing online live at 7:55pm Spanish Time on Friday, July 27!

That's 7:55pm Spanish time, 1:55pm Eastern, 10:55am Pacific time (토요일 오즌 2:55 서울 시간) right over at classicalplanet.com/live.  If you're near a computer, please tune in!

Spain Day 3 - Sun and Water

This will be short:

1) The sun is particularly hot here.  The shade is cool, but walk out into the sun and it gets really hot.  A bit different than the Northeast.

2) Spanish bottled water is different...it contains a lot more sodium and whatnot (like 40x more sodium than Dasani, for example), so the water tastes different.  Not my favorite...so I try to find soda instead.

3) I'm playing Friday at 7:55pm Spanish time (1:55pm Eastern Time).  Everything is broadcast live at classicalplanet.com/live :)

Spain: Day 2 - Practice and Chicken

Beautiful beautiful beautiful.  That's the weather.

Well at least until this weekend, but oh well.  Today, I got some practicing in and got to pick out the piano...between a Hamburg Steinway and a Yamaha 9-foot.  They were both good, but the Steinway had the far better tone, so I'm going with that one.

I'm not sure of the order, but the whole thing is broadcast live online at classicalplanet.com/live on Wednesday-Friday at 4pm-11pm Spanish Time (that's 10am-5pm Eastern Time and 7am-2pm Pacific Time).  I'm not sure when I'm playing yet (won't find out until tomorrow), but wish me luck!

¡Adios!

So gorgeous

Spain: Day 1 - Plane, Plane, Bus, Car.

It's a long trip to Santander, Spain.

Beautiful Santander, Spain
Really, you've got to fly 7 hours (that's literally the time you spend in the air, not listening to the safety videos and whatnot) to Paris, layover for a couple of hours, and then fly almost another couple hour to Bilbao.  And then you've got to get in a car and drive for over an hour.  Oh yeah, and all the flights to Europe leave at night, so you don't get sleep.

Next Stop: Spain (well technically France, then Spain)

¡Voy a España esta noche!

Hello Everyone!  I'm off to Spain, today, so my apologies for not having a better post up!  I am leaving tonight and am transferring back in good 'ol Charles de Gaulle (I sure hope they've decided to do something crazy and start putting up signs in the airport since I was last there).  I'll then head over to Bilbao, Spain before driving up the coast to Santander.

It should be absolutely beautiful there.  The weather will have highs in the upper 70s or so, and it is right on the norther coast of Spain, which should be gorgeous!

I will definitely post and whatnot while I'm there, and of course will take an inordinate amount of pictures of everything, as I always do, so no worries there!

So, I guess I'll end by saying "¡Adiós, mis amigos!"
