We started off the day with a little breakfast at the hotel...
and then drove for almost 3.5 hours to the town of Raton, NM. I was here about a year ago for a children's concert/talk/outreach for the Shortgrass Music Festival, and it was great to be back! It's a beautiful little hall that's almost 100 years old.
At 1pm (we're in Mountain Time now), I played for about 400 2nd-5th graders, and then at 7pm played the actual concert. What a blast!
For lunch, we had some catfish at a restaurant across the street from an abandoned power plant.
Boy, am I absolutely tired! What a day. Tomorrow, we've got just a whole day of driving heading north...toward Colorado!

You sure are making the 'rounds'. Such a beautiful country to explore. It's wonderful that you are stopping in so many small towns and bringing your awesome music to children that might otherwise not get a chance to see/hear it's beauty. I'm sure they love your concerts. Travel safe. Rest when you can. Keep smiling !
ReplyDeleteThank you for coming to Raton to perform for us. Please keep coming back.
