Listen to the 2015 BBC Concert Orchestra Tour!

The BBC3 Radio has just broadcast both concerts with Keith Lockhart and the BBC Concert Orchestra from West Palm Beach, FL from April, 2015!

As many of you know, I spent April touring the United States with the BBC Concert Orchestra and Keith Lockhart, performing the Shostakovich Piano Concerto No. 2 and the Ravel Concerto in G Major.

Two of those concerts were recorded for radio broadcast throughout England, and they are now available for the next ~month online!

Concert 1 features the Shostakovich Piano Concerto No. 2 with the Volodos/Mozart Rondo alla Turca (Turkish March) for an encore.

Concert 2 includes the Ravel Concerto in G Major, with an encore where I took four notes from the audience.

End of BBC Concert Orchestra Tour; West Michigan Symphony; Beginning of Summer!

BBC Concert Orchestra Tour Comes to an End!

It was a crazy several weeks, but the BBC Concert Orchestra tour with Keith Lockhart was a huge success.  We got some awesome reviews (links below), and it was overall an absolute blast!

After I returned at the end of April, I had several concerts to prepare for.  After a short performance for a benefit dinner for the Seattle Symphony, I gave a small concert in Wakefield, Rhode Island.  Then, I headed off to Muskegon, Michigan, where I played both the Grieg Concerto with the West Michigan Symphony, and then a solo concert the next evening.  Whew!

The Start of a New Season

I'm in New York now, learning lots of new music for the coming season.  After a few small performances in June, I'll debut with the Houston Symphony on June 20, playing the Gershwin Concerto...should be fun!  Next season, I'll also debut with the Alabama Symphony, the Des Moines Symphony, and at the Portland International Piano Festival.  I'll also start my next cycle of concerts at the Gardner Museum in Boston...this time a "Themes and Variations" cycle.

Day Something-in-the-Middle - Coach Bus Heading North!

Florida Tour...Check!

The Florida portion of our tour is now done, and boy did it fly by quickly.  I'm sitting on the coach now doing a long drive from Gainesville, FL to Chattanooga, TN, where we'll break before another several hours tomorrow to Louisville, KY for our next concert tomorrow night.

Our first concert in Vero Beach was at a gorgeous church north of Port Saint Lucie.  From there, we headed to Naples, FL for a concert at their huge concert hall.  We then crossed back over the state to reside for a few days in Riviera Beach, just north of West Palm Beach.

Our two concerts at the Kravis Center in West Palm Beach were great, and we got three terrific reviews as well:

The next day, we performed at the stunning Arsht Center in Miami, and then had a free day on the beach in Riviera Beach!  I was so happy that Stella was able to come down for a few days, though she had to head back to New York this morning.  It was wonderful seeing her~ :)

Onward and Upward!

We gave a concert at the University of Florida in Gainesville, last night, and are now heading way up north for the second half of the tour.  It has been an absolute blast working with Maestro Keith Lockhart and everyone in the BBC Concert Orchestra, who have all been tremendously warm and welcoming. :)
