One of the best little bakery chains is Paris Baguette...
which is a Korean-based company that makes pastries and other desserts. There's one branch in Koreatown of New York City, which has the best cakes and small sweets, like these here:

...And this is enough to make almost anyone happy. At a restaurant in Times Square called something like "Texas BBQ," you can get a tremendous amount of chicken, baked potatoes, and cheap everything. Lots of fun, and the food tastes great. :D
